Since our beginnings, TransfoLAB BCN has supported over 500 creatives, students, and enthusiasts at different stages of their projects. We have also served as an incubator for 30 start-ups, more than half of which have successfully grown beyond the shared environment and continued their work in their own studios or offices.

Safety course

Before any new member can work independently in the workshop, they must complete the mandatory safety course. There are two different courses, one for metal and one for wood. During this course you will learn how to work safely with each tool in the workshop.

Each of these courses takes approximately 1,5 hours and costs 50€.

If you work with both wood and metal you need to complete both safety courses.

***When you complete the course you will be asked to sign a form.

Daily Pass

8 hours work in the workshop, including use of tools in the selected area (carpentry or metalworking). Access to all the facilities (changing room, kitchen/ coffee). Available only when there is previous experience in using tools and machines, an upon completion of the safety course.

CNC cutter services

Self-service - in this option you need to be very experienced in Fusion 360 both in CAD and CAM, and using our CNC cutter. You need to be able to do the whole work without the involvement from our CNC operator (you can of course ask when having doubts or consult him when necessary. He will be there). Each user will need to go through an obligatory CNC Walkthrough Course, where you will learn about the specifics of the machine we have. The first 2 hours of cutting will be evaluation hours, when our CNC operator will assess whether you can use the machine with success. Our CNC operator has the right to not allow you to use the machine further if he evaluates that you may be harmful to the machine or yourself. The materials are not included in the price.

Plasma Cutter

You need to be an experienced user of the machine.  The first 2 hours of cutting will be evaluation hours, when our tools operator will assess whether you can use the machine with success.  The use of the compressor is included in the price.

Price per hour: 15 euros (min 2 hours)

Laser cutting

Work area: 600 x 350 mm

Maximum thickness for cutting and engraving: 6 mm (depends on the material)

Maximum thickness for engraving only: 80 mm

Material: You can bring your material, otherwise we have a stock of materials. Always ask for availability beforehand. The material has to be flat, to cut and engrave well. We prefer to work with natural materials: plywood, DM, paper, cardboard, etc.

Vector files: .ai, .dwg, .dxf, .vwx, .svg, etc. formats. (Exceptions for engraving photos, the file can be type .jpg)

Prices (VAT included). The price of the service is €1.20 per minute. The minimum is €20. Making changes, drawing or manipulations of the file are €40 per hour. TransfoLAB members have a 15% discount.
